How to use the GST Calculator
- Choose whether the amount is before GST (add) or includes GST (remove).
- Enter the amount and the GST rate for your product or service.
- Choose intra-state or inter-state supply.
- Press Calculate.
Formula
Add GST: GST = Amount × Rate ÷ 100; Total = Amount + GST
Remove GST: Base = Total × 100 ÷ (100 + Rate); GST = Total − Base
Intra-state: CGST = SGST = GST ÷ 2. Inter-state: IGST = full GST.
Examples
- ₹2,500 + 18% GST = ₹2,950; CGST ₹225 + SGST ₹225.
- ₹1,050 inclusive of 5% GST → base ₹1,000, GST ₹50.
Frequently asked questions
When is IGST charged instead of CGST and SGST?
IGST applies when the supplier and the place of supply are in different states or union territories, and on imports. Supplies within one state attract CGST plus SGST (or UTGST).
